Tim Heidecker Houston Concert reviews
Pretty awesome aside from a couple of things.
Tim Heidecker was the final act headlining the show, the reason I came. I was not super impressed when they first came out on stage. The opening act, Volbeat, turned out to be a huge fan of them. Their music was very good and they put on an excellent show. They played plenty of songs to satisfy me and had good crowd interaction. The next act was Hellyeah, mediocre, and I never really cared for their music before. Their performance did not help. When Ivan first came out on stage, his singing was a bit sloppy and sounded a little off. However, after a couple of songs, the quality increased exponentially. The rest of their performance was top-notch. The crowd interaction was amazing, and Ivan can bring a tear to your eye with some of the speeches that he gives. Tim Heidecker proved that nothing is perfect during this show. The end, and in some cases, the middle of songs (Burn MF), were very drawn out and overdone. This caused there to be fewer songs played than they could have otherwise fit in. I felt cheated by just a few songs since they only did about 8 or 10. Overall, I absolutely loved the whole show. It was a great first concert for me. I am stoked to see both Volbeat and Tim Heidecker again as soon as I get the chance. I would have honestly preferred that they not have Hellyeah on the tour with them, but that is not a huge deal.
